Printing and classroom tips
Open the downloaded PDF and print at “Fit” on landscape Letter paper. The file contains the map, title, and source credit without navigation or surrounding articles. Crowded labelled maps include a second page with a numbered name key. For a larger sheet, SVG stays sharp at any size.
Dense states such as Texas have many small counties. Use a numbered map with the matching county list when names are too crowded at classroom handout size. Keep FIPS codes as text when importing CSV so leading zeroes are preserved.
What is included in a download?
Downloads contain the complete Census boundary map, independent of the current screen zoom. Street, topographic, and aerial imagery backgrounds are available in the online viewer and are not included in these files.
